The curtains may have closed on One Mic Stand (OMS) at the General Space in Petaling Jaya, but they will soon return at Harith Iskander’s new space, The Joke Factory, come August. Kuala Lumpur’s longest running weekly comedy show took its final bow at General Space in front of a packed audience after performing their 282nd episode on July 24. The two-hour belly tickling show saw a total of sixteen stand-up comics performing, including one visiting comedian from Australia. OMS’ journey in the comedy scene began back in 2012 at Jaya One, when it was founded by Kavin Jay and Rizal van Geyzel. When the two funnymen moved on in 2015, the show was left in the hands of comedy duo Brian Tan and Prakash Daniel. The next step for OMS will be moving to The Joke Factory in Publika, run by the funniest person in the world. Their first show there will be on August 7 at 8.30pm. Find out more about OMS shows on their Facebook page for when you need a healthy dose of laughter.
